Pubs and Brewery’s
There’s no need to stray too far from the beach this summer, between swims duck across the road to Running with Thieves for a beer, lunch or even just a coffee or an icecream (there’s a selection of Simmo’s scoops just by the beach entrance). With the recent additions of the arcade games, air hockey and photo booth, the only hard part will be getting the kids to leave.

This port side gem needs no introduction, it has quickly become a Freo institution and is the ultimate in family friendly dining. An epic playground, retro arcade games, foosball and giant connect 4 will have the kids busy for hours on end. So grab a beer, order a meal and settle in.
A Shed, Victoria Quay, Freo
An iconic Freo establishment that brings together the best our port city has to offer - fresh seafood, live music and family friendly fun. Grab a drink and enjoy a meal as the kids explore the nature playground or have a kick of footy. Take them down on a Friday or Sunday for some face painting and you might be lucky enough to bump into Farmer Damian and his animal farms too.

A super cute, light filled cakery hidden down a back lane in central Freo with the cutest kids’ corner going? Yes please. This one is perfect for the little ones, and has a small courtyard if the older ones are needing a bit more space. Don’t even get us started on the cakes.
Tum Tum Lane, Freo
From the crew behind one of Freo’s most loved cafes, Good Things, Lovers Deli & Canteen has just opened its doors and it is already bustling. With a very cool, kitsch diner style vibe inside, and a casual courtyard out the back with a basketball hoop and a kid’s corner, this welcome addition to the Valley is packed with all the nostalgia you could hope for.

Needing no introduction Moore and Moore café is as Freo as it gets and has stood the test of time for good reason. With a kids corner, and a nature play space (next door behind Paper Bird Books), as well as a tasty but healthy kids menu, it never fails to disappoint. Head down at 9.30am on a Sunday to catch Story time in the courtyard with Paperbird.

Looking for a place to get your caffeine fix and a bite, with the toddler in tow? This long standing South Freo café has some great retro vibes and a small play area for the little ones, giving you more time to chat to your mates about just how sleep deprived you are.

A piece of Freo’s history beautifully restored and now the perfect place to take the family for a slow Sunday lunch. There’s something for everyone, with a grass area for the big kids, a sandpit for the little ones, live music on the weekends and even an onsite rotisserie.

Fish and chips is always an easy option with the kids. While you wait for your food the kids will be memorised by the sharks, eels and other weird and wonderful creatures hanging out in their huge aquarium, the largest private aquarium in the state.
